What else:  I chose Lola from the litter since she seemed to show an interest in me on my two visits.  She seemed calm enough (puppy-wise) and I thought she’d do well around my older dog and two young kids.  She got home and was really good with everyone, and slept all through the night with no issues.  The next day she was on a tear…jumping on everyone, pouncing our elderly dog, and putting her razor puppy teeth to work.  Typical puppy stuff, but it’d been a long time since our last puppy as our other dog is 17, so a lot was forgotten.  She never was mean or aggressive at all, but rather overly friendly and full of excitement all while gaining 2+ lbs every week.  Baby gates and a house leash were in constant use for the next 3 months to prevent any accidents since she still thought she weighed 12 lbs.  She was continually socialized with other dogs and people, and by month 5 she completely matured with no more jumping, no mouthing, and obeying commands on the first ask.  She’s always been very curious and explores the backyard daily before finding a spot to nap until it gets too hot and she comes inside.  She’s also always shown high intelligence, learning commands from a very young age and retaining them even without constant training.   Lola is very much loved by everyone in our immediate and extended family and we’re very happy to have her.
